Fjords, Skiing and a good refuge

A week of total escape in the Lyngen Alps in northern Norway, for ski touring enthusiasts in a breathtaking setting!

Lyngen Alps - March 2022

This unusual formula “Sea & Mountain” is the realization of a project to which we are attached.

Marry Sea and Mountain, two fascinating universes, so different, so close...

The boat is a cosy traveling refuge that drops you off every day for a ski touring race. We sail about 3 hours a day, exclusively inside the fjords .

Program

Our stays begin, depending on the airline, on Saturday evening and end the same day in the morning, the following week. This saves you expensive hotel nights in Oslo or Tromsø. On board you are on full board: Athlete's breakfast, hearty salty / sweet snack on the way back from the race, dinner in the evening (everyone has their own habits, you must take care of your energy rations for the races of the stay).

From Tromsø, stays take place around the mountain range of the “Alps of Lyngen” between Ullsfjord and Lyngenfjord as well as in the surrounding islands .

You embark in the evening at 7:00 p.m. when you arrive from the plane. Dinner and first night on board. We sail the same evening or the next morning. You are on your skis on Sunday morning, for your first ski touring race.

After each race, the boat sets sail to go to a new site. This small navigation takes place in the fjords. The sea here is generally calm. It's a special time to relax at your convenience: take a hot shower, rest in your cabin, watch a video, enjoy the library, meet in the saloon, listen to music or, on deck, fishing for cod or taking pictures…

Every evening we stop. To be quieter and make the most of the surrounding view, we are most often at anchor. Depending on many parameters (weather, sea conditions, snow cover, group dynamics, etc.), guides and captain work together for the next day's race and choose from among the 30 possibilities, including several crossings (change in altitude between 800 and 1800 meters).

In the morning, we go with the boat to the foot of the route chosen by the guide, to drop you off with the dinghy.

Our 6m rigid tender equipped with a 4m gangway on the front, allows you to really disembark with dry feet every day. We return to Tromsø the evening before your departure. This can be an opportunity to dine in town to taste some Norwegian specialties such as seal, whale, reindeer, fish... After a last night on board you disembark after breakfast, to take the plane back.

For security reasons, groups must be accompanied by 2 “high mountain guides” or 2 qualified people.

We can therefore accommodate 10 skiers and 2 supervisors.

If you have a group formed without a supervisor, we can direct you to guides we know or specialized travel agencies who will be able to provide you with a supervision service and compulsory insurance.
