An unforgettable trip in the Norwegian fjords, where you’ll encounter orcas and humpback whales. Full board on the boat, we will visit mammal observation sites every day.

At night, enjoy the Northern Lights, whether from the shore or the boat, when the sky is clear. Tromsø region is ideally located for observing this exceptional phenomenon.

In the Skjervøy region

We are at the 70° parallel North, about 450 km north of the Arctic Circle.

A bustling ecosystem

At this time of year, herring spawn in the Skjervøy bay and nearby fjords. Orcas and humpback whales come to feast on this abundant food source. The mammals often stay in the same area, near the surface, which allows for extraordinary observations.

Unforgettable encounters

Amidst Nordic landscapes

And Northern lights

Program

Here is the guiding thread of the trip, with its various objectives and possibilities:

Day 1: Arrival in Tromsø, boarding in the late afternoon. If time permits, possible visit to Tromsø's center. Dinner and overnight on board.

Day 2: Departure after breakfast, discovering Norwegian fjords. Stops and excursions on the way to Skjervøy, weather permitting.

Days 3 to 6: Searching for local wildlife in the majestic fjord landscapes. Orcas feed on fish, especially herring, which have migrated to this region in winter due to climate-related current changes. Besides orcas, regular sightings of humpback whales occur, offering a spectacular scene as they hunt with flocks of gulls, petrels, and white-tailed eagles.

The fjord landscapes provide unique photography opportunities with special lighting. Depending on our route, we will stop in small ports for a visit or hike. One highlight will be visiting the typical port of Hamnes, a 19th-century fishing outpost still in operation. The panoramic view of the famous Lyngen Alps is worth the visit.

Evenings are an opportunity to watch for Northern Lights in remote bays, far from light pollution.

Day 7: Morning wildlife observations, then return transit to Tromsø, arriving around 5 p.m. Free time to explore Tromsø. Aperitif and lunch will be served on board.

Day 8: Disembarkation in the morning by 9 a.m.
